Justine Ikes

Justine Ickes is an educator, curriculum developer, instructional designer, and trainer/facilitator who has worked on a wide range of capacity-building projects in the education, emergency response, humanitarian assistance, international development, public service, and volunteer sectors. She has designed, lead, facilitated and evaluated education, performance, youth employment, workforce development, and change initiatives in the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe, working with government agencies, INGOs, local partners and program teams to empower people to continually learn, adapt, and innovate.

Justine’s expertise is deeply informed by her 8 years living and working in Spain, and her hands-on experience teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language to adults and children. After returning to the USA, Justine served as director of training for a post-Katrina disaster recovery project, as a trainer-of-trainers for early childhood educators, and as Peace Corps education program specialist for the Europe, Mediterranean and Asia region.

A lifelong learner, Justine is now back in class, having recently joined a women’s acapella chorus where she’s happily learning to harmonize in the barbershop singing style.
