Simon King, EdD

Dr. Simon King is an educator, evaluator, and researcher who has worked on a wide range of education projects, focusing on impact evaluation, program learning, and helping teams use evidence to improve their work. He’s also led capacity-building efforts across multiple countries, working with local ministries and program teams to strengthen assessment and evaluation practices.

Before embracing research, Simon spent many years in many countries teaching middle and high school mathematics, including two years as a volunteer teacher in Chipata, Zambia. After moving to the USA, Simon served as a department chair, high school director, and school principal.  He sees his experience in schools as pivotal to understanding the context of teaching and learning within education systems.

He has recently switched his focus to learning to play guitar. He proves to be a stubborn student. But, as his instructor/daughter likes to remind him, “Dad, Girlfriend in a Coma has just three chords!”
